I About Haval

Haval is GWM’s new professional SUV brand covering both city and cross-country SUV products.

In China, Haval SUV ranked No. 1 in sales volume for 14 consecutive years. In 2016 Haval sold 938,000 units in China, up 42 percent year on year,making this Chinese car maker the only SUV brand in China to have achieved million sales volume without being a joint venture.As China’s SUV leader,Haval launched the new brand logo on March 2013. With professional brand image, Haval is dedicated to SUV segment with the goal of becoming a world first class SUV brand.

I Strength of R&D

In terms of the technological R&D, Great Wall Motor implements the “Excessive Input” strategy and pays attention to the effective R&D and pursuance of industry leadership. Great Wall Motor is constantly ahead of the industry average level in terms of the R&D expense for individual category and individual model.

The Haval New Technical Center, already put into operation, is built by Great Wall Motor with a total investment of RMB 5 billion and is China’s largest and the world’s first-class finished vehicle Technical center, including five zones: R&D center, prototype center, testing center, modeling center, and data center, with the total building area at 260,000m2.

I Brand Activity


The 2014 Dakar Rally embraced its perfect ending for now. This time, HAVAL finished the rally with a champion of Stage 1 and the 8th place in the overall standings. Having competed in Dakar Rally for five consecutive years, maintained top 10 overall for three years in a row, and come out on top with Mini and Toyota, HAVAL continued its legend in the Grade A international rally.

The Rally concluded perfectly Haval matched the history record with 6th place overall

On January 19 Chile Time (January 20 Beijing Time), the two-week Dakar 2013 concluded in South America. After Stage 14, the overall standings in the car category were rolled out. The Haval Dakar Team finished 6th, placing in the top 10 among the big names like BMW and Toyota.

  • In August, GWM’s new plant in Tianjin went into operation and Haval H6 was launched.

  • The electronically-controlled high-pressure common-rail diesel engine developed in association with Bosch went into production and matched Haval models.
